Writing from the Hart Chapter 2

Words.

Words come to us easily, flow from our mouths, our pens, our keyboards, our hands, and all other mediums we sometimes forget that when they are uttered they can become miracles or can shred a soul.

In my career as an author, I have written over a million words. Some of them have become books and others are helpless deleted to go off into the purgatory where unfinished and unpublished manuscripts sometimes end up. I try to keep my words to a minimum on social media because I don't feel I need to share every aspect of my life. I share if I have something on my mind, but I'm not going to write my opinion on every little thing I see or hear.

I consider myself a nice person overall and would do about anything to help someone I know out. People have opinions about what they read, watch, hear, etc. and that is theirs by right. Just as mine is. If you like my stuff, thanks. If you don't, thank you for taking the time to read it, and leaving your opinion if you didn't.

I don't care much for politics, religion - unless you get in my face- celebrity gossip. I could give a fuck who is wearing what or screwing who. I follow actors or authors because I like their art. I support my friends and of course I have my opinions I share once and awhile about the whole writing market and where it is going at the moment. And right now it sucks.

What does this all have to do with Words?

Well...I had a need to share to let people remember that words can hurt or lift up.

I write words because I need dump them from the repository of my mind. I form them from the threads of plot and weave them into something that is tangible. I work a full time job and writing is my second full time job. Ideas swim in my mind, but lately I have been taking a break from the words.

Writer's block is not my issue. I needed a space to recharge my batteries. I'm switching my words here and there and focusing more on horror and urban fantasy. Romance is always going to be in my wheelhouse, but sometimes dealing with certain relationships is nice to switch. Words lead me down another road so I follow.

Words are all around us. It all depends on how you harness them. Just remember that words can hurt, hinder, and wound others if you use them the wrong way.
So use them wisely
I try to.
