State of the Crymsyn- February Edition

I try.

I really do try to blog about my life, but honestly I think it's boring. Maybe my readers don't, but I suck at blogging. It's one of my many faults. But I don't have much interesting happening to me. I mean no one wants to hear me go on and on about Commercial Property and General Liability Insurance as that is my day job.

Or bore you about the dogs which now number three, my 9 year old Lab Morrigaine, my 6 year old Cadence Lab/Border Collie mix, and my 9 month old English Pointer/mix-we think with whippet- Briar. Between the three of them I am smothered in dog hair and toys. I sit on the couch and all three vie for a spot on me. Briar poor thing was very skittish when we got her from the Humane Society of Charlotte. She's gotten much better but still hates the train, hates any loud truck that goes by the house, and sometimes shies away from me and my husband.  We have no idea what happened to her when we got her. She was four months old so we've had her for 5 1/2 months now. Needless to say, I got her for a companion for Cadence who has tons of energy. Morrigaine has arthritis so she's not into running around much. Sucks to see her get older, but what can you do? So for the trade off of the new dog, my husband got satellite TV so we've come out of the dark ages in that respect. Hehee...now he is glued to the tube watching anything he can on sprint cars. But we all have our poison.

Mine just happens to be writing and hanging out with my fellow writers on our Thursday night shenanigans at Starbucks.
So besides the day job, my dogs, my family which I don't really talk about much, my friends, there's always the psychic side of me which I don't get into. Those days have passed regarding publicly doing readings. I read some, but lately I've just been swamped from writing which I'm not complaining, but it takes tons of time as any author will tell you.

I haven't seen many movies at the theater. I did catch an interesting vampire flick called Byzantium which was entertaining and gave a different spin on the vampire genre. I'm a sucker for vampires of any kind. Another one I've seen is called Kiss of the Damned. It was very artsy and while it was good, the first twenty minutes of it were my favorite.

Reading wise, well everything I've been reading lately is in for research for a new horror series I have been developing .

I'm proud to announce that this series called Deathly Encounters will be out with Seventh Star Press.
The series is about a woman who finds herself embroiled in the world of grim reapers and what happens to her along the way.  So if you love grim reapers and want to see what happens when one of them turns the world upside down because of a mistake they did ages ago, then you have to check it out. There will be much more to come on this. At the moment, I have the first three books done in the series.

Along with that, I've also been working on two spin off series that are within the grim reaper world, but deal with the other characters in the world. So I've been writing my fingers off.

I have also been signed with Secret Cravings Publishing for my first contemporary novel called Lube It Up coming out later this year. Now writing that was a challenge. I definitely prefer writing paranormal anything better than just straight fiction. I guess that's because I've been used to that most of my life.

So recapping what I have completed and working on so far:

Deathly Encounters Series - Horror
 Death's Dance
 Death's Revival
Death's Demise- needs to be edited.
 Death's Descent-plotted out

Undertaker Tales- Horror
A Deathly Undertaking- needs to be edited
 Follow the Ink- started

Hunter Series:-Horror
 Book One-Started

Lube It Up- Contemporary Romance

Untitled Fairy Tale- completed needs to be edited.

Started:
Come and Yeti- Hairy & Hung sequel-MMF-Multiple Partners-Yes there is Bigfoot on Yeti sex as they are the males.
Tales of the Grigori Book 3-MFM
Fur World book 3-MFM

Plotted out:
Reindeer Games- MM(f) not sure on this one yet.

So as you can see I have a lot going on, and my muses are constantly coming up with other things for me to do so I have to put it off as much as I can.

Good new though is that my Gods trilogy will be re-released this year with Purple Sword Publications. I love these books they are pure fun and are so not meant to be taken seriously. I made sure that everything bad that could happen to the heroine would.

That about does it with what I've been up to besides planning the Cons that I'll be attending this year. ConCarolinas May 30-June 1st. Imaginarium in Louisville, KY in Sept with the husband going with me which is a big deal.

Don't forget to check out my latest works that are out now:

Vampire in the Basement
Shifter seduction Boxed Set -  only    $.99
Craving Penelope

Book Preview: Reborn at the Crossroads

Hi All,
I wanted to share a preview of a revamped book I have coming out soon. This is not your typical vampire novel. With a bit of folklore thrown in, a demon giving this a scary twist, and some blazing undead sex, this is going to be perfect to add to any of your Halloween reading lists.

Coming soon from Purple Sword Publications: Reborn at the Crossroads.

What do you do when folklore stops being myth and vampires rise from their grave?

Blurb:

Beth Rivers has spent five years in an emotional cocoon from the death of her husband. One night she discovers an intruder on her land and shoots him. After bringing him back to her house, she realizes the wound has healed. Desire blossoms inside her for him. There’s something about him she can’t resist.

However, Travis wasn’t the only thing that awoke that night. Something darker was released also and its eyes are set on Beth. They must either face this nightmarish creature or be consumed by it.

Excerpt:

The shower curtain slid out of the way. She glanced up. Travis stood before her. Dried blood decorated his face and chest. His jeans were soaked with it and ruined. She couldn’t help the bolt of horror that pierced her heart. She scooted toward the back wall. A low growl spilled from his lips as he reached out to her.

“I won’t hurt you, Beth.”

“Is that what you told the four people you’ve killed? I heard it on the police scanner. Old habit from my husband.” She didn’t look at him.

Travis sighed. The curtain closed, but after a moment it reopened again. Beth wondered if he was going to do it now. She glanced up. Travis stood naked before her. Heat raced through her body. She tried to deny her feelings for him, but she couldn’t. Something between them overrode the crippling fear. Her entire being wanted him. The water from the jets blasted around her and onto him turning the water crimson. He knelt down again.

“I don’t plan on killing you, Beth. I don’t plan on killing anyone else.”

“I suppose you had some great epiphany after I left.”

He laughed. “I did actually. I remembered who I was. Elizabeth wouldn’t want me to behave this way. She would want me to forget all about that. I can’t help what I am. I don’t even know exactly what roused me from my slumber. I should be dead, bones and dust, but I’ve been given another chance with you. I have a hunger that must be satisfied. I’m trying to learn to balance that. In my life I was a doctor. I tried to heal all those I—”

Beth heard his words, but placed a hand over his mouth to quiet him. His lips were too sensuous forming around the words. Her lips replaced her hand and she captured him. The water poured over the two of them and all she could think of was how his cock would feel plunging inside of her. At that moment, it didn’t matter what he had done. Her mind pushed it all aside and she focused on the primal link and raw heat.

He pulled away and worked down her throat. Each nip of his teeth, she let him take her deeper under his spell. His fingers scraped along her back. His fangs grazed her flesh. There was no use fighting the connection. Maybe on the inside she truly was his wife reborn. She arched her neck waiting for him to strike, but the pain never came. Instead he cleared the water from her eyes and looked into them. His blue eyes smoldered with lust. There was no hunger.

Sex, Death, Cowboys, Vampires & Bigfoot

I'm sure you're scratching your head wondering how Bigfoot fits into the list above.

Well, these are only some of the subjects that I write about. Over the last seven years working with various publishers, and amassing more titles than I can count, I've come to realize that I love writing. I guess that would be obvious. Sinking into all the different realities I've created and the ones who linger still in my brain has kept me sane when dealing with the stress in my life. I'm guess that is the way with most writers.

In all this time, I've written books based on current selling trends and I've written the ones that I want to read as well. I have some that I even go back and re-read because those characters have gotten underneath my skin.

I've created cowboys and they were fun. Shifters are always great to do. I favor writing about shifters turning into ravens or dragons. Wolves are popular and so are cats so sometimes they take over my brain and become the center of a story. Vampires are dear to my heart for reasons very few people know and I try to create each one a little different than the last and it doesn't matter to me what the trends do, I'm going to write them anyway.

Through all my books, my favorite character is Azrael, my Angel of Death. He's more than grim reaper, he's also...well I'm not going to give away his story but you can read about it in Masquerade, Soul Reaper, Angelic Cravings, and Falling. But he has become more than just a character in my books, he has become a muse of sorts and demands to be put into as many plot lines as he can find his way into. Right now he pops up in over twenty at this point, lending a hand to those characters who need it.

With him being my most written character, there are others who some people ask where in the world did you get an idea for that say writing about Bigfoot and a green shape shifting alien in Hairy & Hung or a were-gingerbread woman in Ginger Bites. Bigfoot and the alien was concocted out of a conversation at a Halloween party at how you would have Bigfoot get it on with some thing. So I went with the idea of an alien too because I don't write much sci-fi stuff and poof.  The were gingerbread was an idea that popped into my mind after watching a horror movie with a gingerbread killing everyone so why not combine it with a werewolf story for Christmas and see what I get. Sure it's silly, but we all love Christmas miracles. These are the books that are fun to write because they are a little far fetched and show off my dry wit...Hahaha. But you can't take these books so seriously all the time because hell I certainty don't. I understand people might not get them, but they are awesome to create.

And of course there is sex in the books. What is erotic romance without sex?

So if you like quirky, can stand hunky vampires, or an accident prone witch who falls in love with a Celtic god, peppered with supernatural menages then you and I will get along just fine.

Thanks for reading and enjoy!

Excerpt:

A neon pizza sign flickered above the restaurant. I smirked at the one pepperoni in the sign that kept blinking in and out. The buzz of the lights made my ears itch even when I stepped inside. A very sleepy clerk reclined in one of the red plastic booths. A stack of books was spread before him on the table. His apron was stained with tomato sauce and flour. A streak of white lined his nose, and a few strands of hair stuck out from under his cap. The place smelled of grease and burnt bread. I could go for a pie with linguisa and hot peppers right about now.

When the bell rang on the door, the heavy-eyed server roused himself. I looked over to the mirrors on the wall and noticed my reflection. I could have passed for one of the numerous college students strolling the streets. He walked behind the counter and straightened his apron while I perused the menu.

“Can I help you?”

Grease was caked onto the Formica counter I rested my arms on. It might be clean to them, but the sheen and the slick on my fingers remained. I gave him a wide smile. “Large pizza with linguisa, hot peppers, and extra cheese. Oh, bacon too.”

He rang up my order. I paid and then waited in an empty booth. The minutes ticked by while he banged the dough in the back. After a few moments, the aroma of freshly baked bread filled the small space. My mouth watered. I could also go for a pint or two of his blood. No one else was around, and no other heartbeats echoed in the back. Why not? A girl’s gotta eat.

I got up and locked the door. I flipped the sign to closed and then waltzed into the kitchen. I stayed by the oven, feeling its heat warm my cold flesh. The clerk slid my pizza onto the conveyor belt for it to start cooking. He wiped his hands against his apron and stopped when he saw me.

“You can’t be back here.”

I put my hand on my hip and pushed out my chest. His eyes strayed to my breasts. “I hope you don’t mind, but I was getting awfully hungry and thought maybe—”

“Your pizza will be done in a few minutes.”

I bit my lip and began twirling my hair around my finger. He wasn’t falling for the bait. “I know, but I was thinking . . . maybe you could help me out.” The aroma of the cooking pizza assailed my senses. It raised my hunger for blood, too. The clerk stayed planted to his spot. Inching closer, I gave him my most innocent smile. This time, I placed my hand on his chest and felt the steady beat of his heart. The other rested lightly on his neck. His flesh burned from the warmth of the oven. I trailed my fingertip over his face, feeling the slight stubble, and then over his lips. He swallowed, finally getting the hint I desired something more than pizza. Never before had he thought some hot chick would come on to him in while he was working.

“Wow. I-I’ve never done it in the kitchen. You sure—” He placed his hands on my hips. Through the light contact, I felt him shaking.

I put a finger to his lips. “Shh. There’s nothing to worry about. You let me do all the work.” I squeezed his hardening dick through his jeans. His anxious gaze searched mine. I didn’t break the eye contact when I sank to my knees. He unzipped his jeans and slid his boxers down. He was semi-hard, but when I began kissing the inside of his thigh and grabbed his ass to keep him steady, his dick hardened all the way. A moan escaped his lips.

“Oh, baby.”

My lips slid over his inner thigh, finding the spot above his femoral artery. His hands gripped my shoulders hard. My teeth shifted. The smell of the pizza mixed with the copper scent of the blood flowing underneath his flesh. My stomach gurgled. The darkness inside threatened to overtake me, but I pushed it back and pierced his vein.

Excerpt:

The blades of grass crunched under my feet from the frost on them. Heat waves from an aura blazed against my back. The smell of the thief, unwashed, too much cologne, and greasy hair came to my nose along with steel and gunpowder. His heartbeat doubled the closer he got to me. He thought he could sneak up on me and get my wallet. Maybe a little bit more. The would-be robber’s aura shifted while he made up his mind if he wanted to use his gun or his hands. The scent of his desire spurred my hunger. My teeth shifted. An overwhelming desire to show him my true form over took me, but I held that in check. I was not a monster and wouldn’t lose my humanity to the beast. I opened my mind to the killer so I would hear his thoughts better.
Gotta have something. I need it bad. Oh yeah, this bitch is gonna be sweet. I’ll get her money, do her, and then I can get some more rock. Maybe I should shoot her and then fuck her. Turn around, bitch! Turn around. I want to see your face when you stare down the barrel of my gun. That’s right. All I need is one more hit and I can get through tomorrow.
This guy was so dead. His gun wouldn’t do anything to me and I’d make Swiss Cheese of his brain in five seconds flat once he gazed into my eyes. Ten seconds if my thoughts pushed into his brain. I ran my tongue over my teeth willing them in for now.
“Hey, bitch!” He cocked the gun. His excitement blanketed him. It made me giddy. If he only knew what he was getting himself involved with. I turned slowly playing the sweet and innocent part. After all, I was a woman out on my own in the middle of the night. Women were helpless at least that was the age-old adage. One I had used to my advantage over the years. I tried to appear shocked and scared. His gun glinted in the moonlight.
“Please don’t hurt me,” I whimpered. He enjoyed my fear.
“Give me your wallet.”
“Sorry. I don’t have one.” I stepped forward. Confusion crossed his mind before it hit his face.
“Give me whatever you have then. Come on. Fuck. Hurry up.” He motioned with his free hand.
I smiled. He was so mine. This time I didn’t care if I dropped a body and left it for the cops to find. He was pissing me off and I was hungry again. I looked him up from his feet, ragged and holey shoes, torn jeans that had seen one too many park benches, a dirt, sweat stained shirt, and slowly worked up over his scraggly beard. The wrinkles around his eyes were a roadmap of his life. He wasn’t very old but he’d seen one too many sleepless nights hooked on crack and whatever drugs he could get his hands on. His eyes were dreary gray, the color of the Northern sea by my old home in England. Once my gaze met his all of his willpower drained away.
“Put the gun down, Larry.” I gleaned his name from his thoughts. The weapon in his hand wavered. “You don’t want to hurt me. You know I have nothing for you. Don’t you?”
“Yes.”
His eyes widened. I licked my lips. I used more of my mental whammy on him then I had on the pizza guy. I had to be more careful with this guy. His heart rate dropped. I stepped closer. He didn’t move. His gun hung limply at his side.
“Good boy. Now come to me.”
He stepped forward again. Before he came into my arms, he was tackled and thrown to the ground. Our connection snapped. I snarled. There went my meal. My would-be attacker was wrestling with someone. I’d been so caught up in my prey I hadn’t sensed anyone else around. I started to mold the shadows around me, but if I disappeared it would confuse my hero. Is every girl helpless at three in the morning?
“I said shut up!” My hero chocked the gunman who was out cold. The man stood up towering over me. I came up to mid-chest if I was lucky. He was tan, square jawed, and had deep intense eyes. They held a lot, but I didn’t try and read him. It was hard enough to play nice and mortal while not wanting to tear out his throat, but I could easily throw him down and fuck him for a few rounds. We’ll see how well he can be thrown around by little old me. Maybe he’ll even enjoy it.
“Miss, are you okay?” His gaze searched my face.
I nodded trying to act frightened that someone had assaulted me. “Yes. Thank you. Oh my God! He was going to kill me.” I stared wide-eyed into my hero’s face. His big smile softened his features.
“Well, he won’t be hurting you now. What were you doing out here all by yourself? It’s dangerous for a woman to be alone in the Common at this hour. You’re not from here are you?”
I glanced at the man on the ground. The bouquet of his blood filled my nose. My mouth watered. So much going to waist. “I’m from New York. I haven’t been to Boston in ages.”
“Are you staying with anyone? Can I walk you to your hotel?”
Oh great. This is all I need a real chivalrous man. “Thank you for your concern and all, but I’ll be fine really.”
“You don’t have a place to stay, do you?”
I opened my mouth and then shut it. Tobias would let me in. I knew that. Besides I didn’t have to sleep when the sun was up. It would sap my strength, but I’d be okay. I shrugged. I hung my head. “No. My friends aren’t home and I don’t have a key. I have no clue when they’ll be back.”
He looked around weighing his options. He didn’t want to leave me out here alone and stranded. I didn’t have to look into the future to know what he would say next. “Well…I have a spare room. You can stay the night. No strings of course.”
Of course.

Kaylynn has photographed thousands of people all over the world. However, the one man she desires wants nothing to do with her. Elijah took Kaylynn in when she was a teenager, rescuing her from an insane preacher who wanted her for his own evil purposes.

Over the years, Kaylynn wants nothing more than to feel Elijah’s dark kiss. He wishes to keep her safe. In order to do that, he sends her away until an old evil resurfaces. Together, they have to confront the crazed reverend…and something else.

Excerpt:

He sighed and went to the window, staring out into the night. Outside the moon was almost swollen. Was it, too, waiting for the precious words that needed to be said between us? I didn’t bother to pick up my robe, but instead sought warmth from the man who I desperately needed to know cared for me. I wrapped my arms around Elijah’s waist and rested my forehead against his back because I wasn’t tall enough to reach his shoulders. My face was buried in his hair. It smelled of peppermint. I never realized he actually cared for it, or how silky he kept his hair. There was so much I never knew about him. So much I had never thought to ask. Amazing how time can make you wonder and do things you never thought possible before.
He tensed up, but his yearning was evident in his taut muscles. I bit my lip and decided to try something I had never thought of before. If I could use my ability to move objects even when I was asleep, why not use my power to touch others? It was just an extension of my gift. Just a little less power, and more concentration. Closing my eyes, I pictured his face in my mind, and with a little push of my gift, I saw myself caressing his cheek. A shudder took him when I used my power to see myself kissing him, trailing caresses down his neck.

I pictured my hands all over him, touching his flesh. I went one step further and saw my mouth on his shaft, slowly going down on him. He uttered a moan and tensed even further; whatever I was doing was working.

“Stop. Please. Before we both regret what will happen.” He tried to shrug me off. A barrier surrounded his thoughts. He shut my power down, and I felt alone. The wall was cold and dark.

“No. Turn around and face how you feel. For over a decade I’ve barely lived. Part of me has been frozen. You said you weren’t made from stone. Well, neither am I and for years, I’ve felt that way, but when I’m with you I can be alive and I don’t have to deny my feelings. I don’t have to hide. Can you say the same?”

He turned around slowly and met my gaze where his burned slightly red. “If you stay, I’ll do things to you. I can’t guarantee your safety or your life.”

I touched his cheek and brushed my lips to his. I would not be denied this time.
Wrapping me in his arms, he crushed me to him. His lips and tongue worked against my throat where he bit and suckled, but never broke the skin. His palms enclosed my breasts over the satin of my nightgown. I moaned against him. My nails dug into the flesh of his back. His lips found my nipple; it was already hard in his mouth. I was already wet, and I had dreamed of this for years. He suckled for a moment. He was tearing at the cloth of my nightgown. He had me bare and before I knew it, he had two fingers inside my wet pussy while his thumb rubbed over my clit. The sudden movement made me jump. I heard the bed echo my surprise, but God, it felt good. And I wanted more of him.

I pressed my lips to his, feeling the bone hardness of his fangs under his lips and with my tongue. His fingers moved deeper inside of me and his thumb and other finger moved lightning quick. I found my knees were wobbling and Elijah was holding me up. His eyes studied my face. I was coming close to the edge.

“You have to stop teasing me,” I said in between moans.

“I told you I didn’t know what I would do to you.” He leaned in and crushed his lips to me, but it was too late. I could barely hold in my groans, and I gave in to his manipulations and came.

I wanted him inside of me. Elijah must have read my thoughts because he scooped me up and laid me back on the bed, settling himself on top of me. My hands found his ass. My tongue snaked into his mouth., caressing his fang. On purpose I nicked it on the point. The vampire growled and raised his head. His eyes were dilated red. His face was thinner, and his cheeks showed his bones. I felt his hard length against my belly. His eyes bored into mine, and he waited to see what I would do. Waiting to see if I was afraid of him, or if I would push him away again? Instead I grabbed his hand, kissing the inside of his wrist, nipping at the spot over his vein. Elijah’s eyes fluttered shut. My teeth dug a little deeper, and then he came back to himself.
This was what I had wanted. Heat soared through me. I felt my power move out of me and slam the door shut and lock it.

“Do I scare you?”

“No,” I leaned up and pulled him down to me. “I need you inside of me. Please.”

“God, Kaylynn. I could crush you. I could kill you. I could—”

“No. You’re nothing like that.”

He ran his hands over my breasts, and then his lips. His fangs caressed my hard nipples. He was careful not to draw blood. His tongue flicked over the hard nodules and the other hand ran along my inner thigh, tickling the sensitive flesh. Each butterfly kiss made it harder to resist, and I began pushing myself against him. He chuckled softly and for a quick moment, left me cold while he slipped out of his pants. Once he did, he straddled me.

Well all. I hope that you enjoyed this little tidbit and want to delve into my vampire world. As you can see I love to sink me teeth into the undead. Hope you do too.

Moonrise Release from loveyoudivine Alterotica!

Hi Everyone,

Join me in celebrating my new short, Moonrise, out today with loveyoudivine.

It’s only at moonrise that he can be reunited with his eternal love.

BLURB:

Laura has been searching for Horus for centuries. In her dreams they are together, but in real life her heart howls for him.

It’s only when they meet by chance that he helps her discover her true nature.

Excerpt:

My fingers touched the side of his face. I peered into his deep eyes. “Think back, my beloved. We’ve been tied together for centuries. I’ve desired to see you. I’ve hunted for you over lifetimes, and now I’ve found you.”

His dark eyes widened. “You must have me mistaken for someone else. I’m only here to gratify you.”

I sighed. He didn’t remember. But that was okay. I could rekindle his deep memories and make him worship me the way he did before. I kissed him lightly. My other hand slipped over his shaft. His eyes closed in ecstasy. Even if he didn’t recall our lives together, his soul was trained to do whatever I wished. My tongue parted his sensuous lips. I palmed his balls. He remained still, melting against me, yearning to touch me, but afraid to. His hands clenched. He wondered what came next.

“No, Horus. I haven’t mistaken you. Eons ago we shared the same lives. Back when the pyramids were new.

The Sphinx was recently carved. Pharaohs ruled the land and gods were the ones we answered to.”

“Please, Mistress. Don’t tempt me if you don’t plan to use me. I am your slave.”

Sadness gripped me. He was not my servant for lovemaking or otherwise. He was my soul mate. “You are not. Does it make you uncomfortable that I say these things?”

He glanced down and lifted his hands. “You have me restrained. If I am to pleasure you, these will not let me. You are a great woman of this house. Only you choose who goes into your bed. It’s an honor to be here.”

I waved my hand. The chains clattered to the floor. He flexed his fingers and rubbed his wrists. His smile widened. Before too long he couldn’t resist the temptation. His palms slipped up over the boning of my corset, taking my breasts in his hands. A shiver went through me. He watched my expression while his fingers tweaked my nipples until they were harder than stone. I was wet from the thought of what was to come. I moaned softly. The serpents on my arms tightened. I reassured them I was not in danger. I rubbed my hand over his head. It was smooth. He squeezed my nipples harder. I craved more from him.
“Do you think you can satisfy me, Horus?”

He glanced up. His pink tongue laved the hollow between my breasts. Horus focused on the five puncture wounds around my heart. Finally, he broke his kisses. “What gave you these wounds?”
I rested my fingertips under his chin and made him stand. He was taller than me. I had forgotten that. “The clawed hand of a werewolf. For initiation into their pack I had to be bathed in blood.”

Hope you all are titilated to check it out.
